Rare Disease Ghana Initiative (RDGI), in partnership with Rare Diseases International (RDI), is organising the first African Summit on Rare Diseases with a view to promoting learning and exchange on the state of rare diseases in Africa. The Summit will bring together key stakeholders to discuss challenges and innovations shaping the rare disease landscape in Africa from a national, regional, and global lens.
The hybrid conference will take place over three days in Accra, Ghana (and online) on December 1st – 3rd, 2021.
The Summit will address challenges and barriers to care, as well as innovative partnerships transforming advocacy, research, diagnosis, care and access. The agenda features three distinct themes:
- National policies and care coordination
- Regional advocacy and collaborations
- Global rare disease initiatives
